Common Name or Meaning The Elongate Renanthera

Found in Thailand, Borneo, Java, Malaysia, the Philippines and Sumatra in swamp forest and mixed hill forests, at elevations of sealevel to 1000 meters as a giant sized, hot growing epiphyte, or terrestrial with an elongate stem carrying many coriaceous, oblong, rounded and slightly bilobed apically, articulated to the persistent leaf sheaths and blooming on an axillary, suberect to erect, many branched, subdesely many flowered, stout, terete, 12" [30 cm] long, purple inflorescence with minute, triangular floral bracts.
