Common Name The Bracted Rodriguezia

This species is similar to Rodriguesia venusta from the state of Espirito Santo but there are only two bracts on the lip and not eight as it occurs in the valid Rod. venusta Rchb.f. Found in Peru and southern Brazil, Atlantic Forest, Serra do Mar Mountains, from São Paulo and Parana States with oblong, compressed, pseudobulbs carrying 3 to 4 leaf-like bracts and a single, apical, strap-shaped leaf that blooms on an axillary, arcuate-pendant, 8" [20 cm] long, racemose, few flowered inflorescence occuring in the fall and early winter.
