Common Name The Large Flower Sarcoglottis

Found at elevations of 280 to 1300 meters in Ecuador, Peru and Argentina in seasonally dry, montane, cloud forests as a small sized, hot growing, terrestrial herb with thick, fleshy roots, narrowly elliptical, white mottled, acute, basally clasping leaves that gradually taper to the conduplicate base and blooms in the spring through fall on a terminal, erect, 34" [70 cm] long, few to many flowered inflorescence with tubular, acuminate bracts and tubular, acute floral bracts that cover the ovary.
