Common Name or Meaning The Scented Satyrium

Found in Cape Provine South Africa in the shelter of rocks and bushes in sandy soils at elevations around 30 meters as a medium to large sized, cold growing terrestrial with 2 to 6 spreading, fleshy, gradual to abrupt transition to sheathing leaves above that blooms in the spring on an erect, terminal, to 20" [50 cm] long, 2 to 45 flowered inflorescence with recurved, large, lanceolate, acute floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate, clove to lemon scented flowers
