Found in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Fr Guiana, Surinam, Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte at elevations of 0 to 1400 meters in open forest and woodlands that blooms in the spring on a terminal or at the nodes on stem, racemose inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb with several flowers held in a cluster and opening in quick succession.
