Common Name The Cleft in two Parts Scaphyglottis

Flower Size .6" [1.5 cm]

Found from Costa Rica, Ecuador, Fr Guiana and Surinam in rain forests at elevations of 400 to 2200 meters as a small to medium sized, cool to warm growing epiphyte with an ascending, apical half swollen into cylindric fusiform, slightly laterally compressed, basally terete pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several evanescent sheaths and carrying 2 apical, coriaceous, elliptic, acuiminate gradually narrows below into the conduplicate base leaf that blooms in the late summer on a very short, terminal, successively few flowered racemose inflorescence and may be with maturing fruit.
