Common Name The Short Scaphosepalum [refers to the smaller flower]

Found from the Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and also in Bolivia at elevations of 500 to 2200 meters as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths carrying a single, apical, erect, thinly coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, acute leaf that gradually narrows to the slender, channeled petiole that blooms on a loose, sharply flexuous, verrucose, slender, successively several to many flowered, 2" to 10" [5 to 25 cm] long, racemose inflorescence with conduplicatet floral bracts.
