Found in Chihuahua, Jalisco, Michoacan, Guerrero, Mexico, District federal, Quintana Roo, Tlax, Oaxaca, Puebla, Hidalgo states of Mexico as well as Guatemala on humid slopes and rocks, grassy places, bluffs, pine/fir forests at elevations of 2200 to 3800 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial as a slender, glabrous plant with 1 to 3, basal or in the lower part of the stem, linear-lanceolate, acute, petiolate leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on an erect, terminal, 2 to 4 flowered, pubescent inflorescence with sessile flowers that stand at right angles to the stem.
