Common Name The Salesian Scuticaria [refers to the monastery in Ecuador of Padre Angel Andreetta]

Found in south eastern Ecuador in very wet montane forests at elevations of 600 to 1300 meters as a large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with very short pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, terete, sulcate, pendant leaves that blooms in the summer on a basal, shrt, single flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb and holding the flower close to the base of the leaf.
