Found in Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica and Nicaragua in lowland tropical rainforests as elevations of 100 to 1000 meters as a small sized, warm to hot growing, caespitose epiphyte with pyriform, longitudinally sulcate pseudobulbs enveloped by several basal bracts and carrying a single, apical, elliptic-lanceolate, coriaceous, plicate, gradually narrows below into the long, channeled, petiolate, ribbed leaf that blooms on a basal, short to 2" [5 cm], pendulous, 3 to 12 flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb occuring in the late spring and early summer.
