Found in Bolivia and Peru in very wet forests at elevations from 950 to 1800 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphytic herb with light green, egg-shaped, compressed pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several pairs of distichous, imbricating leaf bearing sheaths and carrying a single, apical, narrowly elliptic, acute leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on a pendant to arching, basal, racemose, to 5" [12.5 cm] long, several [8 to 10] flowered inflorescence arising on a newly matured pseudobulb.
