Found in Colombia as a miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with very narrowly egg-shaped, strongly compressed pseudobulbs that are partially enveloped basally by several distichous, imbricating, conduplicate leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying apically two arching to spreading, thin, leathery, oblong-lanceolate, acute apically and conduplicate below to form a rather short, narrrow petiole-like stem leaves with one being distinctly smaller than the other which blooms in the spring on a few flowered, arching to drooping to 9" [to 22.5 cm] long, many successively flowered inflorescence arising from the axil of the basal sheath of a recently matured pseudobulb with about to 6 flowers open at any one time.
