Common Name Allen's Sobralia [American Botanist specializing in Central American Orchids early 1900's]

Found in Costa Rica and Panama at elevations of 600 to 1000 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with slender stems carrying 1 to 3 apical, broad, elliptic-lanceolate to narrowly elliptic, plicate, acuminate leaves that are glabrous above and lepidote below particularily towards the base and with lepidote leaf sheaths that are basally clasping tothe stem and blooms on a terminal, single flowered, short inflorescence with smallewr, white fragrant flowers.
