Found in NW Madagascar in sandy very dry woods at the base of trees at elevations of 1569 meters as a warm to cool growing as a terrestrial, semi epiphyte or epiphyte with a short stem carrying neumerous, large loriform, coriaceous and very unequally bilobed-obtuse apically leaves that blooms in the late spring on a 16" [40 cm] long, erect, rigid, loosely 12 to 15 flowered inflorescence enveloped by several sheaths
