Common Name The Beautiful Sobralia

Flower Size 4" [10 cm]

Found in southern Venezuela and Brazil at elvations around 1700 to 1800 meters as a giant sized, cool growing terrestrial with more or less robust stems enveloped completely by glabrous foliaceous shaths carrying numerous, distichous, lanceoilate to ovate-lanceoalte, plicate, longly acuminate, rounded attenuste below into the petiolate base leavse that blooms in the fall on mostly lateral but occasionally terminal, suberect, laxly successively single few flowered infloresence with with narrowly ovate, acute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts .
