Found in Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama at elevations of 5 to 1850 meters as a giant sized, cool to warm growing terrestrial with a robust, erect stem carrying plicate, basally clasping, elliptic-oval, acute or acuminate leaves and blooms at most any time of the year on a short, terminal, successively flowered inflorescence with fragrant, short-lived flowers
