Found in Costa Rica and Panama in wet cloud forets at elevations of 1500 to 1800 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a short, creeping stem carrying basal, broadly elliptic-ovate, 7 veined, acute, long petiolate leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, 16" [40 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence enveloped by acuminate, pubscent bracts and carrying non-resupinate flowers
