Common Name Pozo's Stanhopea [Ecuador Orchid Enthusiast current]

Flower Size 2.2" [5.5 cm]

An Ecuadorian and Peruvian medium sized, hot growing epiphytic species found around 800 to 1000 meters in wet montane forests on the western slopes of the Andes, with ovoid, sulcate pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, plicate, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, channeled, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late Summer and fall on a pendant, basal, 3 to 5 flowered inflorescence subtended by large, chartaceous bracts and carrying fragrant flowers.
