Common Name Boyle's Stellilabium [American Illustrator of Orchids current]

Found in Guatemala and Monteverde Costa Rica in cloud forestss at elevations around 1380 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphtye with a short stem completely enveloped by leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying basal, minutely ciliate, ovate, acute leaves that blooms in the spring on a terminal, to 6" [15 cm] long, successively several single flowered inflorescence completely enveloped by very broadly winged bracts.
