Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil in very wet, montane cloud forests at elevations of 1200 to 3400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with branching ramicauls and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly lanceolate, obtuse, gradually narrowing into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter and early spring on an erect to suberect, 1" [2.5 cm] long, several flowered, racemose inflorescence
