Common Name Skutch's Stelis [American Botanist in Panama 1900's]

Found in Costa Rica and Chiriqui state of Panama at elevations of 1200 to 1750 meters as a small to just medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with erect, slender stems enveloped by scarious sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, ellipotic, obtuse to acutish, gradually narrowing below into the elongatepetiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer and fall on an erect, to 8.8" [22 cm] long, exceeding the leaf, many flowered inflorescence with infundibuliform floral bracts.
