Common Name The Javanese Stereosandra
Flower Size 1/4" [.9 to 1.1 cm]
Found in Java, Sumatra, Borneo, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, New Guinea, Solomon islands, Taiwan, Samoa and the Ryukyu Islands in humid, shady, lowland primary montane forests at elevations around 250 to 1500 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing, saphrophytic terrestrial with an elongated tuber of several short, swollen internodes with erect, pale yellowish shoots carrying a few short sheaths to 16" [40 cm] tall and blooms in the spring on a terminal, 6" [15 cm] long, laxly several to many flowered rachis.
