Found in China and Taiwan in broadleaved evergreen forests or along rocky ravines at elevations of 600 to 1900 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with cylindric to raely ovoid-conical pseudobulbs enveloped by scarious sheths and carrying a single, apical, narrowly oblong to broadly linear-oblanceolate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, slender, erect, 12 to 24" [20 to 60 cm] long, racemose, laxly many flowered inflorescence
