Found in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Java, Sumatra and Borneo in montane forests and in tall grasslands at elevations of 600 to 1200 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with terete-conical, carrying 1 or occasionally 2, elliptic to ovate, acuminate, abruptly narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a lateral, mid way on the pseudobulb, to 14" to 18" [35 to 45 cm] long, 8 to 15 flowered inflorescence with 3 ovate bracts and narrowly triangular, acute floral bracts with wide open
