Common Name or Meaning Ruy Barreto's Tainia [Describer and original discoverer of Species current]- In China Nan Fang Dai Chun Lan

Found in Guangxi Hainan and Hong Kong Provinces of China as well as northern Vietnam in forests, beside rivers and in bamboo forets in humid, shady locations at elevations of 600 to 900 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with closely spaced, dark green to purplish red, ovoid pseuodbulbs with 2 sheaths and carrying a single, plicate, dark green, lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, glabrous, 12 to 18" [30 tio 45 cm] long, 5 to 28 flowered inflorescence with 3 reddish bract-like sheaths below and dark purple, narrowly lanceolate floral bracts.
