Found in Peru in cold cloud forests at elevations of 3000 to 3500 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with a leafy throughout stem carrying a few oblong, acute to emarginate leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on an erect, cylindrical to slightly trigonus, 2 to 6" [5 to 15 cm] long, successively 1 to 2 at a time, 2 to 7 flowered inflorescence with an ovate-triangular, acuminate floral bract
