Found as a terrestrial in Western Australia in open scrub on sandy soil at elevations of sea level to 250 meters witha single ovate to ovate-lanceolate leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer in nature on an erect, 2 to 10 flowered inflorescence and with T. benthamania, are the only Thelymitras with a fringed column
