Found in Java and the Philippines on sparsely vegetative mountain slopes in sparse or acidic soils at elevations of 1400 to 3000 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying a single, linear, acute leaf that blooms in the fall on an erect, successively 2 to 18 flowered inflorescence.
