Found in New Caledonia, New Zealand and Norfolk Island in grasslands, meadows and scrublands as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single leaf that blooms in the winter, spring and early summer with successively single to 10 flowered inflorescence carrying blue, violet, pink or white flowers
