A miniature to small sized, hot growing, monopodial epiphyte of the Thrixspermum section from Thailand, penninsular Malaysia, Cambodia, Borneo, Java, Sumatra to Vietnam and the Philippines in white sand lowland forests at elevations of sealevel to 100 meters on tree trunks in moist areas near the sea with a very short, flattened stem carrying 3 to 5, lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the clasping base leaves that has an axillary, short to 8" [20 cm], terete, fractiflex inflorescence with a congested rachis carrying 2 ranked, flattened bracts and 1 to rarely 2 flowers that open simultaneously and last over a long period in the summer.
