Found in Sabah Borneo in lower to upper montane ridge forests at elevations around 1800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing twig epiphyte with a stem enveloped entirely by imbricating leaf sheaths and carrying narrowly ligulate, obtuse to subacute, thick, succulent, blotched purple above, uniform purple beneath leaves that blooms in the fall on a porrect, 1.2 to 2.4" [3 to 6 cm] long overall, wiry, purple, rachis .4 to .8" [1 to 2 cm] long, swollen, purple, successively single flowered inflorescence with sheathing bracts enveloping the peduncle and with triangular-ovate, obtuse floral bracts.
