Common Name Oersted's Ticoglossum [Danish botanist and collector in Central America 1800's]

Found in Costa Rica and Panama in wet, montane cloud forests at elevations of 1600 to 3400 meters as a small sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial with ovoid, slightly compressed, dark green pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptic-lanceolate, acute, petiolate leaf and blooms on a axillary, erect, slender, to 6 3/4" [17 cm] long, 2 to 5 flowered racemose inflorescence with ovate, acute floral bracts and fragrant, waxy, long-lived flowers occurring in the spring.
