Found in Hispanola at elevations of 1500 to 2000 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with imbricate, distichous, conduplicte, fleshy, rigid, linear to linear-lanceolate, acute leaves that are held in a fan and blooms on a lateral, erect, slender, distinctly compressed, to 32" [to 80 cm] long, distally few branched, subdensely many flowered, paniculate inflorescence with triangular, acute floral bracts and large, showy flowers
