Common Name The Juinin Trichopilia [Peruvian town]

Found in Colombia and Peru in wet montane forests at altitudes of 1000 to 1700 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing, caespitose epiphytewith an oblong, complanate pseudobulb enveloped basally by several, scarious sheaths and carrying a single apical, narrowly elliptic-lanceolate, acute, basally conduplicate and sessile into the base leaf and blooms in the winter, spring through summer, on a basal, 1" [2.4 cm] 1 to 3 flowered, racemose inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb and held below the leaf.
