SUBGENUS Specklinia SECTION Tripteranthae Luer 1986

Characterized by the short ramicauls blooming laterally from the ramicaul through a bulge or indistinct annulus.The several flowered, racemose inflroescence is more or less pendant and the ovaries and sepals are conspicuously fleshy carinate and the flowers are often cleisostogamous.
