Found in the Chinese Himalayas, Assam, Bangladesh, eastern Himalayas and Nepal in dense forests on tree trunks at elevations of 1300 to 1900 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an arching terete, slender many noded stem carrying a few to several, distichous, narrowly lanceoalte to oblique oblong, acute to slightly praemorse leaves that blooms in the spring through early summer on an arching, 2.8 to 4" [7 to 10 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate floral bracts and slightly fleshy flowers that do not open well
