Common Name The Thin-Ridged Lip Vanda

Flower Size 1 1/2" [4 cm]

A medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphytic orchid from Borneo and the Philippines in full sun near the sea on cliffs or coastal beach forests on branches and tree trunks occuring at elevations of sealevel to 300 meters with a short stem envelpoped completely by imbricate, leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying coriaceous, narrow, recurved, obliquely bidentate apically, strongly keeled underneath leaves that blooms on an erect, 18" [45 cm] long, longer than the leaves, several to many [to 25] flowered inflorescence that can be racemose or rarely paniculate with very fragrant, long-lived, waxy flowers occuring in the fall and winter.
