Found in Java, Sumatra, Borneo and Western Malaysia in mixed, montane and riverine forests on trees overhanging rivers at elevations around 400 to 1500 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with a stout stem carrying curved, leathery, ligulate leaves that are 3 lobed and toothed at the apices and blooms in the summer on an axillary, 4.4" [11 cm] long, rachis fractiflex, 3 to 5 flowered racemose inflorescence with broadly triangular floral bracts and slightly scented, wide open, fleshy, waxy flowers.
