Found in the Chinese Himalayas, Assam India, Bangladesh, eastern Himalayas, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, western Himalayas and Myanamar at elevations around 1500 meters as a medium to large sized, warm growing epiphyte with a climbing stem carrying linear, narrow, conduplicate, tridentate apically leaves that blooms on a sub-erect, 6 to 10" [15 to 50 cm] long inflorescence carrying 5 to 12, fragrant, long-lived flowers occuring in the summer, fall and early winter.
Used in the Malayasian Penninsula as a cure-all by drinking the juice from the compressed plant.
