Found in southeastern Brazil as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with, small, aggreagate, erect to erect-patent, ovoid-oblong pseudobulbs carrying 2, rarely 1, apical, proportionally small, coriaceous, linear-lanceolate, acute, plicate, 3-nerved, attenuate and conduplicate below into the base leaves that blooms on an erect, much longer than the leaves, 6 to 10" [15 to 25 cm] long, 2 to 5 flow3ered inflorescence with a few, well spaced, strongly pressed to the scape, ovate, acute bracts and coriaceous, ovate-triangular, acute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts
