Common Name or Meaning The Callous Bearing Agrostophyllum - In China He Ye Lan

Flower Size .1 to .18" [ 4 to 7 mm]

Found in Assam, northeast India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim, Myanmar, Thailand, penninsular Malaysia?, Yunnan province of China, Vietnam, Java? in mixed, broad-leafed forests on rocky humus rich slopes at elevations of 340 to 2400 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial or as an epiphyte on forest margins with a branching rhizome giving rise to erect, 12 to 24" [30 to 60 cm] long, unbranched, slender in the lower half, slightly thickened in the upper half stems carrying many, grasslike, chartaceous, tapering gradually from base to apex, unequally rounded-bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, subcapitate, short, densely several to many flowered inflorescence.
