Common Name The Long Inflorescence Altensteinia

Found in Huanuco department of Peru at elevations around 2150 to 3840 meters as a large sized, cold growing terrestrial with basal, ligulate, acuminate, clasping base leaves that blooms on a glabrous, slender-cylindric, 7.84" [19.6 cm] long rachis finely tomentosevery densely many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate-ovate, acute to acuminate, scarious as long as the flowers floral bracts.

Similar to Altensteinia marginata but differs in having more densely flowered inflorescence, linear-oblancolate fimbriate petals and a densely fimbriate-margin opening to the lip." Schweinfurth 1941
