Found in Pastaza province of Ecuador at elevations around 1900 metrers as a medium sized cold growing terrestrial with 1 to 2, subbasal to cauline, ovate to elliptic, acute to acuminate, narrowing below into the 1.6" [4 cm] long, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, glaberous, peduncle 34 to 36 cm] long, provided with 3 to 4, remote, glabrous sheathing bracts, rachis 1.6 to 2.4" [4 to 6 cm] long, slightly pubescent, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying white flowers.
