Common Name or Meaning The Bolivian Buchtienia

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in Peru, Bolivia and Brazil in very wet, dense cloud forests at elevations around 1400 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with a short, ascending stem carrying in a basal rossete, elliptic, acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, channeled, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, axillary, to 16" [65 cm] long, racemose, many flowered inflorescence with imbricate, basal, lanceolate bracts and linear-lanceolate, acuminate, slightly shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying numerous, non-resupinate flowers.
