Found in New Guinea on trees in montane forests at elevations around 1300 meters as a small to just medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with a more or less branching, elongate rhizome enveloped by lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate sheaths giving rise to distant, erect, cylindrical pseudobulbous stems carrying a single, apical, erect, linear, fleshy, acute to subacute, narrowing below into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a terminal, short, few flowered inflorescence
