Common Name or Meaning The Rayed Ceratostylis

Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]

Found in Thailand, Vietnam, penninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Java, and Sumatra in lower montane forests in deep shade on tree trunks at elevations of 450 to 2000 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with terete stems enveloped by basal sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, linear, acute, shortly petiolate leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, very short, single flowered, shortly pubescent inflorescence carrying a wide open star-shaped flowers.

The stellate flowers and the net-like old sheaths distinguish it clearly from others.
