Found in southern Yunnan province of China in forests on limestone at elevations around 1200 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing terrestrial with an almost vertical, fleshy rhizome becoming a short stem carrying 4 to 5, withered at blooming, lanceolate, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a terminal erect, peduncle 5.2" [13 cm] long, provided with 2 to 3 sterile bracts, pubescent, to 5.6" [14 cm] long, 1 to 5 flowered inflorescence with ovate to lanceoalte, glabrous, shorter to a bit longer than the ovary floral bracts.
