Found in New South Wales and Queensland Australia in coastal rainforests at elevations of sea level to 350 meters as a medium to large sized, warm growing terrestrial with a fleshy stem carrying 3 to 6, ovate, dark green, gradually narrowing below into the shortly petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on a terminal, erect, 2 to 7.2" [5 to 18 cm] long, pubescent, fleshy, brittle, 1 to 4 flowered inflorescence carrying flowers that often open poorly or not at all.
