Found in Sabah and Kalimantan Borneo in elfin and secondary forests and secondary forests on trunks and moss covered roots at elevations of 800 to 3000 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with swollen to slender, longitudinally sulcate pseudobulbs carrying 1, apical, ovate lanceolate, acuminate, plicate, very stiff, coriaceous, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf and blooms in the spring on a just emerging new growth, 4 to 12 flowered, racemose, to 10.8" [to 27 cm] long inflorescence
