Common Name The Thin Scaled Chelonistele

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in Sarawak Borneo at elevations around 1330 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with rather basally swollen, longitudinally wrinkled, ovate, pseudobulbs carrying 2 apical, obovate-oblong, to obovate-lanceolate, acuminate, stiff, 3 to 5 main nerved, midrib prominent below, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that flowers in the late spring on a synanthous, more or less flexuous, rachis probably pendent, 5.8" [14.5 cm] long, to 12 flowered inflorescence carrying rather closed, somewhat fleshy flowers with the tepals green, the lip white with 2 brown ridges in front of these with a yellow patch, brown marks at the base of the lobes of the lip and the hood of the column is purple.
